Quality
Central to every task undertaken at Gamma-Dynacare is a commitment to the
highest level of clinical quality. We believe that it is through our attention
to quality that we are best able to support the more than ten thousand
clinicians who have come to rely on us in the prevention and diagnosis of
disease and in the treatment of patients.
All three of Gamma-Dynacare’s main testing laboratories hold
the highest level of accreditation offered by the College of American
Pathologists: each laboratory is “Accredited with Distinction.”
Gamma-Dynacare also holds a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA)
certificate of accreditation. As an organization, we are progressing very
well with Ontario Laboratory Accreditation of all of our laboratories,
including the Province's first perfect score.
Gamma-Dynacare’s Forensic Toxicology Laboratory is fully accredited by
the Research Triangle Institute National Laboratory Certification Program for
the United States Department of Health and Human Services and Substance Abuse
and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
The Quality Management Program – Laboratory Services (QMPLS) instituted
by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and managed by the Ontario
Medical Association, regularly validates our laboratory assay quality through
its External Proficiency Testing Program.
Gamma-Dynacare’s commitment to quality greatly influences all aspects of
our working environment, from training and development to technology and
innovation.
Our Director of Quality Management Programs – Ontario recently received
the Bob Cardno Award from the American Society for Quality.
Service
Gamma-Dynacare strives to deliver a quality of service that is both responsive
and customized to our clients’ diverse needs. Our ability to quickly
report test results, routinely within 24 hours, is possible because of the
skill and dedication of our well-trained staff, our flexible reporting systems
and our commitment to communication.
Customer service specialists at Gamma-Dynacare provide a personalized approach,
establishing one-to-one relationships with clients in order to better
understand client needs and to respond effectively to any client queries and
requests.
Our achievements with respect to customer service were a key factor in our
recently receiving the Outstanding Business Achievement Award from the City
of Brampton and the Brampton Board of Trade, as well as a Company of the Year
Award from the Ottawa Board of Trade.

The nature of our business demands that a strong commitment be made to the
health and safety of our employees. Gamma-Dynacare’s Health and Safety
Program achieves this through communication, education and accountability.
Our Health and Safety Program encourages awareness through reporting and
investigation of all workplace accidents, action to prevent further accidents
wherever possible and regular auditing of our systems to ensure that they are
effective. Our Joint Health and Safety Committees are structured to provide
knowledgeable representation from all areas of the company and we take pride in
the cooperative spirit that characterizes the way the committees function.
Several regulatory bodies in both Canada and the United States include health
and safety compliance as a crucial element in the awarding of licences and
accreditation. Gamma-Dynacare is proud that our Health and Safety Program is
recognized by these regulatory bodies.
Community
Community spirit is alive and thriving at Gamma-Dynacare. It is a natural
extension of our mission of Caring for People. We wholeheartedly support
community initiatives and encourage employees to be active in their own
communities. Among the charities to which we contribute, we take special pride
in supporting:
The United Way: Region by region, United Way staff and volunteers help
build caring communities and respond to a broad range of human needs on a
national scale. At Gamma-Dynacare, we support our communities through fund
raising activities that benefit United Way. Activities include team
competitions, raffles and silent auctions. Employees can also participate
through payroll contributions.
The Pink Ribbon Campaign: This campaign helps raise community awareness
of breast cancer. On a designated day during Breast Cancer Awareness Month,
many Gamma-Dynacare employees wear jeans and make a contribution to the fight
against breast cancer.
The Starlight Childrens Foundation: The foundation provides
innovative, creative and fun entertainment therapies that bring lasting joy and
enrichment to the lives of seriously ill children and their families.
