A number of our employees have volunteered their thoughts on working for
Gamma-Dynacare Medical Laboratories. Here are their comments:
In the Laboratory:
Chris Doucette
Technical Support Assistant, Cytology
April 1999 to present
I have worked in the health industry almost 20 years. I
have an understanding of the needs of the patients and the physicians
and the role of diagnostic laboratories. Its a fast-paced environment
that keeps me challenged. Cytology continues to evolve as we invest
in technology and automated processes. I am proud to be able to contribute
in providing quality, reliable service.
Gamma-Dynacare has a fair and competitive compensation and benefits
package. This is important to me. The Registered Retirement Savings Plan and
the complementary match of up to 3% by the company provides an excellent and
flexible way to save for your future. Our medical and dental benefits are also
excellent. The combination of a great working environment and a competitive
compensation and benefits package is important to me and Gamma-Dynacare
provides both.
Richard Chee-A-Tow
Project Leader, Clinical Trials
July 1987 to present
We have a core group of employees who have worked at Gamma-Dynacare for 10
years or more. To me its like a family, its like a family away from
your family! Working at Gamma-Dynacare is a total package challenging
work, a positive, diversified working environment and competitive compensation
and benefits. If you take the initiative to develop your skills and ensure that
you are ready when an opportunity arises, your efforts will be recognized and
rewarded.
Tamar Daws
Cytotechnologist, Cytology
June 2002 to present
I was placed with Gamma-Dynacare in Ottawa as part of my
clinical training by the Michener Institute. I was treated with respect
and decided this was a company I wanted to work for. I was impressed
with the fact that they provided many opportunities for training and
employment of new graduates.
I currently work at the Brampton location of Gamma-Dynacare using
state-of-the-art equipment and I find the work challenging and enjoyable. I
like to know that my work is appreciated and that I have done the best I can at
the end of the day. At Gamma-Dynacare I get positive reinforcement from my
supervisor and my peers. Its great to be able to work with employees who
have been with the company for many years and draw on their knowledge. We help
each other and work together to provide the best patient care possible.
Wafa Siyam
Clinical Laboratory Assistant, Chemistry
November 2000 to present
I wanted to work at Gamma-Dynacare because I knew it was
a good company. I started by volunteering as a lab assistant, within
one month I was hired as a lab aid and nine months later I was promoted
to lab technician!
Gamma-Dynacare has opportunities for advancement and they
are made available to employees. My manager has always supported and
encouraged me in my career. I am getting the experience I need to
reach my goal, which is to work as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
I find the working environment to be inclusive and every day I learn
something new.
I am proud to be a Gamma-Dynacare employee!
Scholarships:
Zofia Gozdzik
Laboratory Assistant, Patient Services
March 1987 to present
I think the Scholarship Program is a great idea. It was a big help as
schooling is expensive. It is one of the best things the company has done and
it is very encouraging to know that Gamma-Dynacare is thinking of its employees
and their children. Gamma-Dynacare is a good company to work for.
Narine Persaud
Supervisor, Courier Department
September 1991 to present
I think it is very good. We benefit immensely as schooling is so
expensive. It was a very good idea on the companys part to come up with a
way to help its employees and their children.
Mindalu Jumarang
Laboratory Assistant, Patient Services
July 1989 to present
The Scholarship Program is very good; we love it. Im very
appreciative of the great thing the company has done in trying to help our
children with their education. I hope they keep up the program.
Recognition Program:
Mindalu Jumarang

I think it is a great program; it is nice to be recognized. This is a nice
thing Gamma-Dynacare does for its employees.
Robert Elphinstone

Robert was the recipient of the Customer Care Award in 2002.
I think the program is great as it is not only from the company but comes
from your peers who have nominated you. It is a great feeling to know that
those whom you work with every day appreciate and acknowledge your
efforts.
