Bioavailable Testosterone (BioT)
The BioT test is recommended for measuring biologically active, circulating testosterone. It is important in determining clinically significant low testosterone levels associated with andropause in males, for whom hormone replacement therapy might be indicated. It can also be helpful in investigating certain conditions in females.

Blood Allergy Test
This test can be used to determine allergies to a wide range of substances in a safe and reliable manner, without exposing patients to possible adverse reactions that can occur with traditional skin testing. We currently offer panels for a wide range of food, environmental and drug-related allergies. More than 500 specific allergens are available for testing.

Homocysteine
Elevated levels of homocysteine can lead to coronary artery disease (hardening of the arteries) and to blood that clots more readily. This significantly increases the risk of heart disease, heart attack and stroke. In conjunction with other tests, it provides a more comprehensive assessment of cardiovascular health. The test is intended for screening patients who could be at increased risk for heart disease and stroke.

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Test
This test detects the presence of high-risk strains of HPV implicated in causing cervical cancer. It is currently recommended for the follow-up of patients with uncertain (ASCUS) Pap test results. It is gaining acceptance as a valuable addition to the Pap test in primary screening for cervical cancer in women over 30 years of age.

Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA)
This is a very important test to assist with the early detection of prostate cancer. Since elevated PSA levels can also occur in non-malignant conditions, they are best interpreted in combination with the PSA ratio (see below). This test is also useful in managing the treatment of patients with known prostate cancer; it aids in determining outcome and predicting recurrence of cancer following therapy.

PSA Ratio
Measurement of free PSA and subsequent calculation of the free-to-total PSA ratio greatly improves the ability of the PSA test to distinguish prostate cancer from other causes of an elevated PSA reading. The PSA ratio can help determine whether the probability of cancer is high enough to require a biopsy of the prostate gland. This also helps to reduce the number of unnecessary biopsies.

Urea Breath Test for Helicobacter Pylori
This test is recommended for detecting the presence of H. pylori infection. It is used in the evaluation of chronic indigestion and ulcers of the stomach and duodenum. It is superior to some other tests in that it detects active H. pylori infection. For this reason, it can also help determine the success of treatment to eradicate the infection.
